 When Little Worlds Collide, 2016

Graduating from the renowned ‘Sculpture and Environmental Art’ course at Glasgow School of Art, whose graduates include Douglas Gordon and Martin Boyce, Timo Aho’s work deals with often complex, global and sensitive topics as he attempts to ‘interrogate the contemporary visually saturated world and its concepts’.

Bold and simple sculptural works: a globe mapping the surface of the moon, a giant white hand with an open palm, Aho creates interventions in existing structures, questioning politics, and established institutions. The works emerge from both an impulsive interpretation and a longer process of study of the notions of space, place and a situation.

The Finnish artist has been part of RSA New Contemporaries in Edinburgh and in 2017 will exhibit with GENERATOR Projects in Dundee.
