Faye Wei Wei
South London painter, Faye Wei Wei’s draws inspiration from her and museums sketches to create her paintings of broad brushstrokes and bold colour have a naivety. Religious iconography in her work narrates familiar tales of love, lust and danger. The figures in her paintings possess a timeless quality; plump-faced and curly-haired, characters from classical myths float and drape themselves on her large-scale canvasses.
At just 22 years old, Wei Wei graduated from the Slade School of Art in 2016 and has since exhibited internationally, including a residency in New York and will present her first solo show at The Cob Gallery, London in 2017.
